Coffee, Community, and Compassion: Megan and Lindley’s Mission to Help Hurricane Victims

Nestled in the heart of Gatlinburg, TN, Megan and Lindley’s independent coffee shop, Bloom & Berry Coffee House, has been a favorite stop for both locals and visitors. Known for their warm hospitality and perfectly brewed coffee, the sisters have created more than just a place to grab a cup of joe — they’ve built a welcoming hub for conversation and connection. Now, they’re turning their love for coffee and community into a powerful force for good.

In the wake of recent hurricanes that have devastated parts of East Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, and the Appalachians, Megan and Lindley are stepping up in a big way. They’ve committed to donating 100% of their Friday (October 4th) profits to help hurricane victims, driven by a desire to provide real, tangible relief for those affected by the storms.

A Heartfelt Initiative

When asked about the motivation behind this incredible donation effort, Megan shared, “As born and raised East Tennesseeans we’ve always felt called upon by the Volunteer Spirit. With that being said, this Friday 100% of our proceeds will be donated to our neighbors in Cocke County, TN, as well as all across Appalachia, that have been affected by Hurricane Helene. In times like this our love and compassion for one another is our biggest strength.”

On Friday, October 4th, the profits from every latte, cappuccino, and pastry sold go directly to supporting relief efforts in the hardest-hit areas. The sisters are partnering with local organizations dedicated to hurricane recovery, ensuring that the funds raised go where they’re needed most.

Lindley adds, “These communities mean a lot to us. Whether it’s through purchasing supplies or helping families rebuild, we want to do our part.”

How You Can Help

Megan and Lindley are calling on their customers and the wider community to get involved in their mission. By simply stopping by the coffee shop on Friday, customers can make a difference. As a regular customer of Bloom & Berry Coffee House, I ask that you try their amazing Fall Specials, which include Carmel Apple Chai, Butter Pecan Cold Brew, and a favorite of mine – Maple Spice Matcha. They are all warming comfort, especially on Autumn mornings.

Can’t make it to Gatlinburg? The sisters encourage everyone to spread the word on social media or contribute directly to hurricane relief organizations if they’re able. You can find more information about organizations they are donating to on their Instagram site bloomandberrycoffee and Facebook site Bloomanderrycoffee.

More Than Just Coffee

While the donation effort is the focus, Megan and Lindley’s coffee shop has its own unique charm worth celebrating. The sisters opened the shop several years ago with a shared dream of creating a space where people could feel at home. From their handpicked coffee beans to their cozy decor, every detail reflects their love for what they do.

Whether you’re grabbing a quick espresso or sitting down to chat with friends, the atmosphere here is all about community and connection. It’s no wonder the shop has become a Gatlinburg favorite — and now, even more so with the sisters’ dedication to helping those in need.

Join the Cause

As Megan and Lindley continue their efforts to raise money for hurricane victims, they invite everyone to be a part of the mission. Visit the shop on Friday, October 4th, enjoy a delicious coffee, and know that every sip is making a difference. And don’t forget to share their story — the more people who know about this initiative, the more support they can provide to those rebuilding their lives.

Together, with a little coffee and a lot of heart, Megan and Lindley and the staff of Bloom & Berry Coffee House, are proving that small businesses can make a big impact in the face of disaster.
